About

Built by engineers tired of stitched-together data stacks.

We started LaserData after seeing AI agent teams spend too much time coordinating databases instead of building their products.

AI agents act quickly, but their data layer often spans systems built for different workloads. A typical stack might use Redis for session context, Postgres for structured state, a vector database for retrieval, and Kafka for events. Teams then add more infrastructure to keep those pieces synchronized and responsive. That arrangement creates operational overhead, separate failure modes, and difficult questions about whether an agent can read its latest writes. We saw engineers spending substantial time maintaining the connections between systems rather than improving the agent itself. The problem was not a lack of individual tools. It was the cost of making them behave like one data layer.

LaserData is an AI-native data backend built around three primitives: Store, Stream, and Query. It brings the core data operations for AI agents into one system, replacing the usual multi-system stack. We built it from direct experience operating high-throughput pipelines and dealing with the coordination those stacks require. The goal is a simpler foundation for agents that need structured state, retrieval, and live event data together.

The team

Kranti Parisa, CEO and Co-Founder of LaserData
Kranti Parisa
CEO & Co-Founder

Kranti Parisa designed high-throughput data pipelines and indexing infrastructure for real-time workloads at a large-scale distributed systems organization. That work required careful attention to indexing, read paths, and the access patterns that emerge when many sessions are active at once. Kranti co-founded LaserData to address the same structural problems that appear when AI agents depend on several separate data systems.

Marcus Ogundimu
CTO & Co-Founder

Marcus Ogundimu works on query execution engines and low-latency data infrastructure. The focus is the compiled execution plan layer, where a complex read can take 6ms or 600ms depending on how the work is organized. Marcus designed LaserData's query approach for the multi-step and conditional reads common in AI decision loops.

Elena Petrov works in developer advocacy, technical writing, and open-source developer tooling. Elena focuses on making performance-sensitive infrastructure understandable and usable for developers who are not database specialists. Elena leads the early-access program and oversees LaserData's documentation.
